The article is titled “5 Reasons to Consider a Suppressor†explains the benefits of gun suppressor benefits. Gun Suppressors create hearing safety, happier neighbors, ethical hunting, effective defense, and enhanced accuracy (Johnston, 2015, December 15). I believe the author demonstrated good critical thinking skills because he allowed the article to be easily read and understood and he communicated the information well. The author provided statistical data to support his claims regarding hearing safety, silencer laws and crime. He used past experiences and opinions to justify his reasoning. I believe the author provided clarity and perspective to suppressor ownership.

The article I believed that lacked critical thinking skills is titled “Shooting Tips: Understanding the Benefits of a Suppressor.†The article provided necessary information regarding the benefits of a suppressor. The benefits include preventing hearing loss, improving the shooters aim, allows the shooters to communicate while shooting, and allows shooters to be more aware of their surroundings (Snow, 2015, March 19). The article lacked inference, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation. The author did not include specific statistics and information to support his claims. Nor did he include experiences or judgments to validate the information presented in the article.
