Module 3: Current Educational Policy and Practices

Module 4: Recommendations

In this Session Long Project you will discuss “what we know” about your topic. In this part of the SLP, you will conduct a brief literature search of scholarly articles in professional journals. Look in recent issues of professional literature, peer studies and research, and books. You may want to adjust your topic based on the amount of literature on the topic. At this point in the SLP, you will be setting up the background for the next section. Remember that your discussion is based on the literature search and what the literature says about the topic.

Your paper should be 2 – 3 pages.

Locate and reference at least 4 journal articles or textbooks (published within the past 10 years) related to your topic.

Summarize what is known about the topic.

Questions to consider:

  • Do the authors present research on the topic?
  • Do the authors present similar or contradictory findings?
  • Do the authors make any recommendations to address the topic?

Provide an introductory paragraph that explains the topics that will be covered (sometimes it is helpful to write the introduction last).

Provide a concluding paragraph that summarizes what you learned on the topic.

Cite all references using APA format.

Provide a reference list in APA format.
